About Me

It's nice to meet you!

My Story

Hi! I'm Giselle, a recent Brown University Grad, freelance writer and tarot reader. I write about love, queerness, and my own experiences as a first generation Mexican in the US.

Growing up as a Latinx immigrant I didn't always feel at home, but writing and storytelling helped give me a sense of belonging and purpose. From reading cards as a teen to writing poetry anthologies now, storytelling remains my greatest love. It is my goal to write and uplift stories and narratives that nurture my communities.

As of right now I share most of my writing on instagram and in my newsletter, Con Cariño. I also run Flor and Honey Tarot over on instagram where I share my tarot journey and experiences.

The Writer in Me

Poetry has always been a vital part of my life and over the last few years I've seen grow to touch so many other people. While I also write fiction and nonfiction, poetry continues to steal the spotlight in my writing life.

I always loved the you language and form can tap into emotions, moments, and even thoughts. So much so, that most of what I share online tends to be just that, poetry in all its forms. Most notably, I finished my anthology, Long Way Back as my thesis in 2020 and it is now a part of the Brown University Library.

Writing continues to be one of the many ways I relate to the world and to others as well. Language allows me to learn about the world around me and understand my experiences. I also share my writing over on substack which you can subscribe to via email as well. I share personal essays about media, life, love, growing up, and of course writing.

If you like my writing make sure to follow me on IG or you can even commission a personal piece!

A Writer's Tarot Adventures

As a storyteller I've also gravitated towards tarot. The story the cards tell are complex and beautiful as well as heartbreaking. Over the last two years I've grown as a tarot reader and even started sharing my practice online. While my tarot readings are not open yet, you can follow me @flor.and.honey my instagram page.
